ParanoidObsessive 12/28/19 6:45:16 PM #12: | Ogurisama posted... Do you do it? Fuck no. 82 games basically means I'm effectively sacrificing six months of my life, constantly in airports (it'd take about 50 flights - in a lot of cases one every two days) and strange hotel rooms (again, something like 50 different hotels, spending maybe a couple nights in each before having to check out again). That's a LOT of hassle. And that's just if my team doesn't make the playoffs. If they do, that's potentially an extra two months and a bunch more flights/hotels. On top of which, it becomes even more of a hassle because my passport is long since expired, but I'd have to renew it to attend the Canadian games (unless I flew to the nearest US city on the border and then drove into Canada for every Canadian game, which is even more of a BS scenario). Even worse, if even ONE thing goes wrong (even if it's entirely beyond my control) that causes me to miss a single game, then the entire process up to that point was a massive worthless waste of my time. It also doesn't help that my team isn't my local team (because I don't like my local team and never have), so even during stretches where they're playing home games, I'm still going to be on the road, because -I- won't BE home. I'll be half a continent away from my entire life, for half a year or more. If I was passionate about hockey it might be more worth it, but I barely give a shit and haven't for nearly 15 years at this point (I've mentioned in the past that I was really into hockey in college, but the 2004 lockout in killed every ounce of interest I ever had). So you'd have to pay me a hell of a lot more than $1,000,000 before I'd even consider doing it. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ... Copied to Clipboard! |
