| faramir77 12/30/19 5:47:56 PM #17: | I had optimism for the 2010s back in 2009. It was a decade of great personal growth for me, but it will be remembered as the decade the world went insane. The 2020s are going to be an absolute nightmare. Far right populism is spreading like a wildfire, almost exclusively among the gigantic near-elderly baby boomer voting bloc. We're going to see our society ripped apart by pointless identity politics spread by sensationalist fake news on garbage social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, while the real evils of the world go completely unchecked. Ignorant feelings will continue to overpower the inconvenient truths that many people just would rather ignore. I'm not looking forward to this decade. I don't see either myself or the planet as a whole being in a better position in 2029 than we are right now.
