Kaga-era Fire Emblem games were generally among the easiest in the series, with the "hardest" being Thracia 776 supposedly which is entirely reliant on sucker punches and beginners traps because it has bad map design (see: Chapter 14 can be won effortlessly without even damaging a single generic enemy and possibly not even the mini-boss depending on movement star RNG by just sitting in the choke points because they forgot it's a defense map and didn't bother to actually give the enemies any way to threaten you if you just defend the starting area, and you don't even have to miss out on anything of note in the process!) and terrible enemy quality mixed with a million broken options for the player to abuse and is trivial beyond belief to someone who has seen its gimmicks already

Yeah, FE was never hard. 7 had far more competent lords than its previous two predecessors and starts the trend of having more characters OP enough to carry a game on their own. 8 is considered one of the easiest games in the series. 9 was literally dumbed down in the west by creating an easier than easy mode and bumping down the other difficulty modes. 10 is extremely overrated in difficulty and other than the first few Dawn Brigade chapters are almost impossible to lose because the game gives so much stuff to you. It's covered by the fact that 90% of the units are trash while the strongest characters are basically meant to solo. 11 is probably the legit hardest but it still has its game-breakers like Caeda, Wolf and Sedgar. It also blandest story in the series, the s***iest mechanic in the series with the kill your own units to unlock chapters mechanic, and generally considered one of the most boring games in the series.
12 starts the op avatar and casual mode that 13 is often credited to (and is a lot more fun than 11). Honestly, Conquest is probably the most fair challenge in the series despite the worst story.
