The initial button combo battle system is one of the all time great battle systems in any RPG. It's so smooth and fun and cool looking and most importantly fast paced without being action game-y. I definitely wish they'd had 6 more months (or a year) more dev time, but the thing I'd have them work on is making the gear combat as fast an interesting as the regular combat.
