Also I'd say a big factor for me is lack of pride or confidence plus social isolation that really sent me down this path. And at least the latter is going to be more typical in a community like this. This place is full of handwringers and depressives who avoid personal responsibility Some people around here can be a little toxic sometimes, which doesn't cause depression, but certainly doesn't help things. Many on the internet grew up being edgelords for attention. edgelordy-ness doesn't usually go along with being empathetic, compassionate, and supportive.
