This is an interesting one. None of these games have particularly impressive GotY polls - Sekiro made it to the final poll but it was in a weak year and it was contending for the #1 spot at all. MH World got blown out in the GotY general poll but it was against really stiff competition. Bravely Default I'm just going to set equal to MHW's strength for the purposes of this writeup and call it a day.

Let's check some old stats, because why not.

Dark Souls (2015g) VS Monster Hunter 4 (2015g)
Dark Souls has a strength of 25.11.
Monster Hunter 4 has a strength of 19.09.
Dark Souls wins with 61.99% of the vote!

A clear win for From Software, but this Monster Hunter World is going to be much stronger than 4 Ultimate and Sekiro is going to be much weaker than Dark Souls. I'll be generous and set Sekiro equal to 2015 Bloodborne (Bloodborne had a much bigger impact on GameFAQs and gaming as a whole). Doing that gets you:

Bloodborne (2015g) VS Monster Hunter 4 (2015g)
Bloodborne has a strength of 21.24.
Monster Hunter 4 has a strength of 19.09.
Bloodborne wins with 55.06% of the vote!

That already starts to look a lot worse. The issue with From Software games on GameFAQs is that they're not as strong on GameFAQs as you might expect. Bloodborne couldn't compete with FF12 (which is not at all a strong game), and Dark Souls got annihilated by LTTP to the point where it ranked lower in the stats than stuff like Earthbound and Tales of Symphonia. Maybe they've gotten stronger since then, but I'm not holding my breath. GameFAQs has never liked difficult action games very much and I don't see that changing. Monster Hunter isn't going to be super strong but I think it's made a big enough impact to beat a C-tier From Software game.

Expected Result
Monster Hunter World / Bravely Default > Sekiro
53 - 47

Division 1, Round 2, Match 4
The Walking Dead
Dragon Quest XI

I'll make this simple.

Dragon Quest 8 (2015g) VS The Walking Dead (2015g)
Dragon Quest 8 has a strength of 18.84.
The Walking Dead has a strength of 12.52.
Dragon Quest 8 wins with 66.77% of the vote!

Yeah. Once the Walking Dead zetgeist ended, it stopped mattering and it's strength cratered as a result (not that it was particularly strong to begin with). It's only going to be worse now, what with Telltale dying out and people having gotten sick of their style of game even before that.

On the flip side, DQ11 has actually done pretty great in GotY polls. It beat out some good competition in 2018, and its re-release on the Switch in 2019 put up decent numbers despite being an enhanced port. It reviewed well, was had a strong reception, and came out on multiple systems. It might actually have taken DQ8's spot as the strongest Dragon Quest game on the site, which...is significantly stronger than it needs to be to win here.

Expected Result
DQ11 > Walking Dead
69 - 31
