(Yes, I do realize that alt right is not exactly conservative, and they're not exactly libertarians... but there is some overlap, especially ideologically).

Guys, take a seat. We need to talk:

Your ideas obviously resonated with you, but we told you it was a bad idea. To quote one of your role models, Steve Banon, you wanted the "deconstruction of the admin state". You wanted "small government", so small "you can flush it down the toilet", like another of your role models, Grover Norquist said. You wanted a government that only provides for police power and defense, but little else, like the libertarian mantra says. That was cute.

The thing is, your ideas hadn't been stress tested, until now. You see, another of your role models, POTUS, followed your "super small government", "deconstruction of the admin state" and "we only need cops and military" philosophies. And then COVID-19 happened.

Those CDC positions he cut and that CDC funding he slashed would have surely come in handy right now, huh? Imagine that appropriate government action had been taken from day 1. We're not talking "we banned countries" and "we are bigly" actions, I mean common sense actions such as:

* screening people properly in airports
* having enough testing kits from day 1
* establishing decent measures to prevent further contagion
* prepare an already stressed health system for the upcoming number of sick people

^ These are just a few examples. Did you really think having 3rd world funding for our own health would achieve anything? Your cutesy "small govt only good for cops and soldiers" fantasy sure didn't pan out, huh?

Now, care to join us in the moderates corner and be modern people?

You dont even realize in your long, condescending post that Trump did in fact propose cuts to the CDC and NHS but they were shot down by Congress. There were no cuts. And now hes approved like 8 billion in emergency funds to stop corona. Call me a liar so i can post the links and dunk you.

also,

adding to this is the point of education:

a population with a minimum level of education would have prevented people from thinking that garlic would make them immune from COVID-19 or that COVID-19 is a hoax

The US also spends more on education than any other country in the world. Sit your ass down.
