Does no one remember when Bush sent out money to everybody back in the early 2000s? There were all sorts of commercials on tv for fucking Pizza Hut and all sorts of other businesses saying Hey youre getting a government check in the mail, come spend it here!

I remember. I also remember it not actually doing much to "stimulate" the economy and it being largely panned by experts.
(I also remember being in college and technically still a "dependent" of my parents and not getting any of the money myself despite working and paying taxes and living 2/3 of the year away from home...)
