If Trump wins again, there isn't a magical progressive saves the day in 2024 narrative that pops up because of the things you mentioned. The progressive moment is basically done for at least a generation unless Biden wins in November. The best thing for the Progressive movement would be Biden getting blown the fuck out but Dems winning downballot to keep the Supreme Court safe. If Democrats win, they're going to feel vindicated that a "Moderate" is the way to go, setting themselves up for another Republican populist who isn't incompetent to take over. Frankly, what an utter failure Obama was that he didn't get Merrick Garland on the court + RBG replaced before he peaced out. What a fucking disaster.
