Topic	I've been on a martial arts movie binge. The Mulan trope is pretty ridiculous.

But it's ridiculous to see characters referred to as "sir" and "boy" when these are the disguises: Pictured: Totally male. This one too. Some people are androgynous enough to pass under the right disguise. But this isn't even a disguise. It's literally just women as women. The disguise also rarely factors into the plot. Dudes just act surprised (and sometimes fall in love) when they find out that that the obvious female is indeed female. --- "I am fearful when I see people substituting fear for reason."
