I'm quite upset, but mostly.... confused.

I live in one of the states that have been hit the hardest by the "virus thing" (I can't say its name I the mods will go after me, since an alternate, shadow TOS applies to me, and me only). There is a shelter in place order. Our government is telling us all the time on TV, radio and the internet to only go out if it's deemed 100% essential, and to avoid congregating in groups.

The view from my house is a little artificial lake surrounded by grass. It's public and quite pretty. Anyway, I went to my deck (located in the 2nd floor of my house) to relax a little bit and... I SEE THIS GROUP OF **********, PROBABLY 10 OR 12 OF THEM, having a fucking picnic in the patch of grass next to the lake thingy.

These fuckers were eating cheese, wine, potato chips, etc, having a grand jolly time. Excuse me?!?! Ex-fucking-cuse me? They were mostly aged 40 through late 50s too, this is not the case of a couple young kids thinking the "virus thing" won't affect them.

Please help me understand, this is bothering me so much. Why?!?! Why are people doing this sort of thing? They know they can get sick. They know people are dying, it's all over the news. They know they can make others get sick and die. They know there is a shelter in place order. It is impossible not to see the testimonials of health workers weeping on TV saying that so many people have died and that they have no protective equipment. So why the fuck are they doing this? What is going on through their minds?
