The Jewish people were exiled to Babylon, for example - Nebuchadnezzar II was a real king etc. A lot of the Old Testament just details Jewish history in Israel. But obviously when you have stories like Noahs Ark and Moses living hundreds of years...yeah. And in the New Testament, Paul of Tarsus is a very much real person, and known as a definite author of quite a few biblical books.
