You need to trim out a whole lot of fat.

Games like Black Ops and Smash, what did they bring new to the table that previous installments didn't, they weren't even breakout hits. It's all about revolutionary, influence, and exceptional quality to me, gotta check off 2 of these boxes. I don't even like half these games but these are the ones that are widely regarded as landmarks(not including mp games)

Probably in this order for me in terms of deserving games:
Minecraft
Zelda BOTW
Dark Souls
Witcher 3
The Last of Us
Skyrim

I feel good about this list and if we exclude Minecraft these are the best top 5 to represent the decade, SEE: metacritic score tally for GOTD. This wasn't intentional by my part, I didn't copy their list. Games like RDR, ME2, Bloodborne, GOW, and an indie game like Undertale, HK, SK are all in the B tier. The rest are in a tier of just being really well received games.
I know that Minecraft is massively popular and I agree that it deserves to be here for that reason, but I never understood why people consider it revolutionary and influential. What has it influenced? It doesn't seem like its inspired a lot of imitations or anything and I don't know what gameplay ideas its introduced that other games have adapted. I'm biased because I think that its boring, but I just don't get why its considered such an important game.
