Or rather, I can't imagine enough people to be there to warrant the $65K price tag and the event not being broadcasted or reported on. Let's say $30 for a "premium pizza" feeds 3 people. If the event were 600 people, we're looking at $6000 for the pizza. There was some news report years back of Congress having an event where each meatball cost $5 and the news bitched and moaned about it. So let's go with $5 per super premium frank and be super generous and say everyone gets 5. That's $15000. Let's say the cost of all the other logistics for catering totals up to $10K on top of the price for food. We're at $31,000 for an unreported party that 600 people attended. If we doubled the cost of the frank to $10, that's only another $15K, to $46K.
This link is a quick comparison, where the hotdogs are sold for about $3.37 per dog made from steak trimmings, 4 packs of 4 dogs. You could definitely get it for cheaper buying in bulk buying directly from the manufacturer. And if we doubled the amount of pizza, that's just another $6K for a total $51K. This is a metric ton of food priced at $12K for pizza and $30K for hotdogs for a party of 600.
