Yeah, Sony own the IP for MediEvil (and Sir Dan was actually surprisingly heavily requested on forums for the game prior to its release, probably the most of any Sony's PS1 characters aside from Crash/Spyro) But Activision owns both Spyro and Crash, and they're not known for being easy to work with.
