I always thought Breaking Bad shouldve done more of the cartel storyline (starting with Tuco)

They wanted too

Tuco was supposed to be the villain of all of Season 2. The actor refused to do to it (I've heard conficting reasons as to why. Some say he is a method actor and playing a drug crazed murderer really bothered him, some say it was scheduling conflicts, some say it was pay, who knows.) he was willing to come in and let them finish up the storythread but not willing to be a regular.

That's why the start of Season 2 felt so damn rushed. Jessie and Walt panic instantly, Walt breaks down and is going to go tell Skylar the truth instantly, ALL of Tuco's gang are arrested overnight offscreen somehow, Tuco snaps and kidnaps them then is killed by Hank

That was all planned but that was supposed to be happen over the course of the whole season. not 2 episodes. That's why Season 2 gets kinda weird in the middle.

This is also why it was such a surprise and treat for huge BB fans when Tuco turned up in BCS because people thought the actor would never do it it was a bigger surprise for hardcore fans than casual ones
