The problem is that casuals tend to be stupid and drool over whatever shiny keys the producers (or hell, the players, since they've evolved their games to play the way the producers want them to) dangle in front of them. I'm sorry, but I don't like Russell Hantz in Samoa. I HATED Rick Devons in Edge of Extinction. And it's not enjoyable for me to see the following on-display this episode: Sophie, who I like, gets half a sentence for a confessional to remind us she has an idol, before getting unceremoniously blindsided for being too close to Sarah, in a relationship that we've basically been told-not-shown since the Rob boot. Michele, who I like, gets ONE moment (making up a quick lie about her EoE advantage), before being relegated to an afterthought during the pre-tribal scrambling. Jeremy, who I dislike this season, looks like a complete dumbass in the edit all episode, yet survives, despite being the reasonable and logical person to vote out tonight. And Tony, who has been one of the most consistently fun and likable characters this season, being shoved down my throat for the entire duration of the episode, always getting his way and being shown to be in the right about everything, essentially turning the episode into "Isn't Tony just fucking awesome and no one else in the cast even matters?"

This episode SUCKED.

the fact that sophie is so good at the game and close to his closest ally is what makes it such a great move.

i guess if you base enjoyment of the episodes just off of what happens to the people you like it makes sense to hate it but i feel like it offered most everything you can ask for from an episode of survivor
