If they get paid $10 an hour that means you have to pay 40,000 a week in paychecks. If you raise it to $11 an hour that's an extra $4,000 bucks you need to pay. We're currently in a time where a LOT of people are unemployed (and thusly have no income and potentially little savings) and what people still have money are afraid to go out or be close to other people. That means a lot of income is simply... not coming in for a bunch of these places that are open. So increasing the cost of employee overhead at a time when your store is likely struggling to survive is a baaaaaad idea. Like I said, I don't wanna side with the corporation here since a lot of them do screw their employee's over.
