Poltergeist: The Legacy
Brimstone (which *also* only lasted one season; John Glover plays -- Smallville's Lionel Luthor -- plays the Devil)

The Kolchack the Nightstalker reboot (also canceled too soon) also fits the bill. The original series also involved supernatural mysteries, but the format was a little different. The original also had two movies.

The anime Ghost Hunt also works, but unfortunately that's *also* fucking short because it only got the one season. Most of the mysteries are several episodes long.

As for films, you have Master of Illusions. The episode "Cigarette Burns" from Masters of Horror also involves a supernatural mystery, a film that turns people into homicidal maniacs (the movie In the Mouth of Madness has a somewhat related premise and a supernatural mystery, but is campier)

The Dresden files show wasn't nearly as bad as people made it out to be, if you watch that first before reading the books you might really like it.

I liked the Dresden Files, tbh

That Grimm show sounds interesting. I'll probably check that out.

It's kinda shitty -- especially in the first season -- but it has its moments.

I never read the Odd Thomas books till I watched the movie, which made me bawl, so then I read the books.

In a strange twist, I believe the movie was better than the book by a significant amount.

I thought the movie kinda sucked, but I still would have enjoyed the sequels. And I was tempted to read the spoilers for the books.

If you want funny. Stan against evil

Stan Against Evil was fucking hilarious, although some of the comic relief characters were annoying.

As for the concept as a comedy, Reaper is also an option. Both shows got canceled long before their time.
