TopicOn a scale of 1 to 10, how important is replay value to you

In this era of micro-transactions, I'd say replay value is highly important.

In recent games, there is little to no incentive to replay through games, because those incentives can be bought on the side instead of playing the game itself.

My favorite example is "Metal Gear Solid" for PS1. You play through the game once, save Meryl, you get the stealth mod. Play through it a second time, save Octacon, you get the infinate ammo bandana mod. Play through it a third time, and you get a tuxedo for Solid Snake and Grey Fox wears Spiderman colors.

....nowadays, you can just buy the tuxedo skin for Solid Snake in the latest iterations of the game. Where is the replay value for 'real gamers' who don't rely on MTXs to pay2win through the little details of the game?

Games are getting expensive, and shouldn't just be one-off experiences with extra costs for more.

PSA: "Real Gamers*" don't pay for Micro-transactions.
*Pro-tip: You're not 'playing' the game, if you're paying your way through it.
