As I understand, a number of vaccine candidates are aiming to be easily modifiable to adapt to new strains in the future, operating under the presumption that coronaviral infections will continue to be a major problem moving forward. That should in theory, make coming up with one for the current SARS of the month about as easy as it is to come up with each year's new flu shot. Awesome.
