In the past, I believe I had a strong friendship with gravy, one that I did consider meaningful. Years ago, there was a user that came across as an intensely normal, goofy, yet occasionally insightful person. Over time, however, I've found that he has become more... unhinged? It's difficult to properly quantify exactly what the change in gravy has been, but he certainly became more belligerent and less open. The conversations dwindled and I began to find frustration in our interactions. As bad of a user as I am - and trust me, my hypocrisy knows no bounds - I can be extremely judgmental about everything I read on the board. Honestly, I think I have an adversarial relationship with every post I come across. It has taken me years to even become self-aware enough to realize that my own comments on any subject only serve to fuel pointless fires with opinions that are anything but valuable or valued. All of that is a caveat to say that gravy's posts have become awful. There was a time when I think he was a crucial piece of Mafia topics or Mercs topics, but his attitude has devolved into the sort of disaffected casual user that enjoys disrupting the board banality rather than contributing to a community. And that makes me a little bit sad. It's a far cry from the guy who I really was quite enamored with years ago, a fun-loving, hilarious and occasionally insightful person I used to truly call friend.
