Obviously you can't get rid of all of it, especially on the bigger sites, but Reddit in particular had and still kind of has a very pro-free speech attitude to moderation, which leads to Nazis, pedophiles, etc sticking around even if you crush their biggest subreddits. Yeah, it doesn't help that when the nazi subs are brought into the spotlight you have a ton of ignorant centrists getting upvoted for their spineless fence sitting. For example, r/politcalcompassmemes is basically turned into a authright haven, but if you try to mention this outside of leftwing spaces you just get downvoted and replies like "imagine getting offended by memes, now this is a libleft moment." The reddit userbase is perfectly content with letting nazis just shit wherever they want. IReallyDoubtIt posted... I am aware of how shit Kiwifarms is too, which is I why my face was when you said it had even 10% good content. Understandable, 90% was too low, it's really just... that one thread where they helped expose a ring of child molesting zoosadists. They also put the spotlight on a guy who abused and murdered by his boyfriends by forcing them to take dangerous saline injections.
