My now-spouse and I lived together as roommates over a year and a half or so, then partners, then had to spend two years apart while I was in grad school. Other than Skype, we saw each other for five to ten days, once a year, for two years and it was really lonely.

But it's not insurmountable. It just sucks.

She's heroic. Thank her for all the weirdos online. We didn't have a pandemic on, so I don't know what to tell you about not being able to socialize or distract yourself with outside hobbies. Good luck, though.
