| magemaximus 05/09/20 7:04:30 PM #37: | i am a rural carrier for the post office. i live in california, and there are some areas where there is no amazon center nearby, where they have amazon drivers, so the post office has to deliver those packages for amazon. the post office is already understaffed because some areas in california (like santa barbara) are too expensive to live in with a carrier salary. it has been crazy here. it is like peak season every day. mail volume is down, but parcels are up. peak season is when it is near the holidays, like xmas. you get a shit load of parcels for about two months. but it has been like that everyday since covid became a thing. also, UPS has had to unload parcels to the post office as well. we are all short. being overwhelmed with parcels is what makes some new carriers quit. we are trying to get everything delivered every day. everything. even it means staying out until 10 pm. the latest i have been out was around 10:15 pm. --- You can't persuade fanboys.
