Sure, but you can be social without flocking to a crowded bar the second it's legal to do so again with no regard for how safe it actually is. Phones exist, the internet exists, you can hang out with friends in person provided they've been sensible about avoiding exposure... Deliberately going somewhere crowded as soon as the government has caved to public pressure to reopen stuff (which is very different from doctors and epidemiologists saying it's safe to reopen stuff, mind you) is a stupid idea, and far from the only way to get human interaction.

That's true. Though the internet and phones are very different than just seeing friends. Trust me, I know. I've been separated from friends and family for a ling time. And it's really started to break me down a little. As for friends in person, I guess that depends on who and how many friends he has, if there are any close by. And while he could wait a couple of weeks before going, people have already been waiting for months, technically. And some may say, "If they waited that long, couldn't they wait a little longer?" And that's an answer nobody can actually answer. Because nobody knows how long things will stay open. The second wave, if there is one, could happen at any point. Meaning, you could lose that bar again for even longer. Maybe even forever. And then that means that person possibly missed their last chance to go to bar... As for it being crowded, it would be impossible to know until you got there. Obviously, some people are still very worried about COVID. So, it would be impossible to know if it would actually be crowded or not until you got there. Or if you called before. But even calling might not work well. And while the bar isn't the only way to get any interaction, it could be a better way than they had. And more interaction than through a screen...
