It does moderate their behavior somewhat but it's still generally more humane and it isn't like a lobotomy or something, they're still playful and keep their instincts and everything. Declawing is basically cutting off the last joint of their fingers, it's something entirely unnatural and they have a really hard time adjusting to that.
