That was me. And I still say Derek Chauvin is a POS and deserves prison. I can't watch the video without wanting to beat his ass. But where I get angry as well is people calling me a racist for saying it's fucked up for people to be burning down and vandalising/looting businesses that had nothing to do with it. Charge Chauvin, get him to trial and convicted, but leave innocent people out of it.

You don't understand, either willingly or ignorantly, that this reaction is about more than just Chauvin murdering him, and it represents more of a long term sentiment in a community that is seeing no real change no matter what they do. This has been the response historically when the citizens feel ignored, regardless of race, nation, political system, whatever. Violent riots and eventual revolutions have always happened when the people of a nation have been pushed to the brink and had their problems ignored.
