Imagine talking all that game about using your weapons stockpile to fight against the government after they start harming their citizens and then doing nothing when cops are shooting protestors.

1) Cops aren't just "shooting protestors;" in fact, I was trying to find one example to show why the claim is flawed and I can't even find that (unless you're misleadingly trying to conflate non-lethal armaments with lethal ones). One article mentioned a 21 y/o shot during the riots in Detroit, but it turns out not to have anything to do with cops. The only people shot and killed in citizen-cop interactions have, unsurprisingly, been cops themselves (well, a guy working security for the government, but close enough).

So just more #fakenews

2) Not all vocal gun owners are anti-government, and some who are merely don't trust government to protect them. As such, they keep their guns *specifically* for times like these when looters might attack their home or store.

3) "Vocal gun owner" in your context seems to be code for conservative, who are more likely to support the police in this matter.

Or they'll fight over something that effects them personally, not rioters.

Also this.

I would argue that police agitating, arresting, and attacking peaceful protestors is something that concerns everyone.

Or the National Guard being called to protect against unarmed civilians

Police arresting rioters is something that concerns everybody, because it needs to be done unless you want widespread property destruction, theft, and murder. If there was widescale rioting in my city, I sure as fuck would want the national guard there. And these were just peaceful protests, you wouldn't have the national guard called in. How many times were the national guard called in during the Occupy Wall Street movement?

Imagine thinking an AR-15 is gonna do anything against a drone strike.

Imagine thinking the US government would launch a drone strike in a city with civilians everywhere. If the US is using drones against its own population, the military will start turning on itself and the government will be overthrown. More importantly, drones are less effective than other methods when you already have an infrastructure controlling an area, which is one reason why you've *never* seen a drone used against a mass shooter.

Beyond that, the AR-15 and similar weapons are incredibly effective and guerrilla warfare (cue meme) has been absurdly effective against larger occupying forces, which is why the US had so many problems in Vietnam (where drones would have done no better) and other places
