A Big Mac is a specific kind of cheeseburger. Not all cheeseburgers are Big Macs. If you go to McDonald's and order a cheeseburger, they aren't giving you a Big Mac.

just like a McGriddle is a specific kind of bacon egg and cheese (and not all McGriddles are bacon egg and cheese anyway)

I guess you could make Big Macs if you chose cheeseburger as your sandwich, but I would guess this person is specifying they just wanted to be able to choose the McGriddle bread more than anything else
That's the whole thing. A Big Mac is a cheeseburger. Your perfect cheeseburger can be a Big Mac, but won't be if more perfect cheeseburgers than Big Macs are possible. A perfect Big Mac has to be a Big Mac. I never implied that a cheeseburger and a Big Mac, or a BE&C and a McGriddle, are equivalent, or that the OP did either. The set of all possible instances of the latter is a subset of the former, which was my whole original logic. And I'd think somebody would be just as insane for saying that they wanted a daily perfect Big Mac specifically instead of a daily perfect cheeseburger

If he meant a sausage McGriddle, the same logic applies; he'd have specified wanting a sausage egg and cheese sandwich if it were available
