Yeah, Disney never really gets rid of anything (though America Sings sat empty for literally decades), they usually just redress and rebuild the attraction. The Swiss Family Treehouse became Tarzan's Treehouse, the Country Bear Jamboree became Winnie the Pooh, Journey Through Inner Space became Star Tours, etc. Hell, they've redone entire lands (Critter Country was originally Bear Country). I'm sure they can come up with something new for Splash Mountain.
