But i wonder if they will get the whole point is that he was an asshole of a person to begin with and it was a period drama where there were dumbasses who actually did stuff like that. Some one in another topic explained it thus: "Black people don't care if there is a point. They're tired of seeing it period." So that explains why they're going scorched earth.
