Now that's cleared up, yes, it's obnoxious. Kids these days are assumed to be idiots and if you treat people like idiots enough they're likely to eventually become idiots. See: Game Freak's treatment of the Pokemon franchise because "kids don't want an adventure or challenge or they will be distracted by their phones!" --- Perhaps the golden rock was inside us all along. ...
