There would have to be a portion of the trial which relates to the circumstances of the cops intersecting with Floyd. If someone did report counterfeit money, the testimony of those who filed the complaint would have to be admitted as evidence to prove Floyd wasn't arbitrarily chosen. Floyd's drug habits would also be entered into question, if the cops state they were in fear of drug induced psychosis, which would make Floyd potentially more violent to manage for an arrest.

...besides all that, the TLDR of it is, that there is going to be a part of the trial where Floyd is going to have to be held accountable for who he is, whether it's for the prosecution or the defense.

And because of the high political charge around this case, the funeral I linked above was probably created to make Floyd into the saint they want him to be, so during the trial they can say St.Floyd was didn't du anything wrong...
