3 is overrated trash, I don't know why everyone loves it. It was fun when it came out but after 4 and 5 there's no reason to think it's superior in any way.
Convoluted menu navigation. Side challenges that aren't meaningfully integrated into the world so you feel like you're playing an arcade simulation. Thirty-second long side quests that were obviously shoe-horned in. These were at least laughable in how shitty they were. Wingsuit is unlocked too late in the game.
Everyone seems to love it because the main character is a white college kid so apparently they relate, but in the whole ensemble of Far Cry protagonists it's also the least believable one.
And the primary villain is so overrated with an unoriginal but OmG sO DePE QUOTE.
Don't get me wrong, it's fun, but I don't know how anyone could say it's the best in the series without looking through some hardcore prescription nostalgia lenses.
Vaas also isn't the primary villain. He dies like half way through the game IIRC.
