Case 3-5 - Bridge to the Turnabout

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_QLzthSkfM
Ode to Franziska, as always.

Sister Bikinis utterly confusing testimony, including a slow understanding that snowmobile engines are warm after being used and therefore melt snow, was painful enough. We then entertain several rounds of testimony with Larry Butz/Laurice Deauxnim. He obviously lies about why he was out at Heavenly Hall, what he was doing there, etc. We cut through a lot of that and manage to get some of the real story.

Larry waited to meet with Iris at Heavenly Hall, but kept walking out to the foot of Dusky Bridge just in case she lost her way. She didnt come at 10:00PM as agreed upon, so Larry elected to take a brief nap. He was roused by a brilliant flash of lightning.

This bolt of lightning, of course, sets the Dusky Bridge on fire, and Larrys artistic spirit is overtaken. He must sketch this burning bridge - and he does in a most colorful fashion, including a flying body of Iris. Larry insists that Iris flew over the bridge since he saw her nun hood. As we know, she was not wearing her hood as she gave it to Phoenix. Larry still insists this is what he witnessed, but no one in the courtroom is convinced. Im somewhat impressed by Larrys persistence here - hes totally undeterred by the variety of Edgeworth/von Karma insults being flung his way. He may be stupid, but he thinks he knows what he saw. Now its up to the rest of us to figure out the deets.

Prior to the murder of Elise Deauxnim, the crystal amethyst sphere on her staff had fallen off near the foot of Dusky Bridge. Larry found it there, half in the snow. This, along with the snowless condition of Elises body, is leading us to believe that is the true place of the murder, not, as previously thought, Hazakura Temples courtyard. The infamous snowmobile is suspected to have been used to transport the body quickly from the location of the incident to the aforementioned courtyard.

The judge reaches the conclusion that more investigation is needed to answer existing questions, so he sets a new court date and sends us off to dig for clues as best we can.

See you tomorrow!

Larry, describing the flash of lightning, reminded me so much of this guy:
