If he liked it, he'd be welcomed with open arms even if nothing else changed. Your girlfriend didn't play the game, but she still liked it so that's fine. It isn't even a factor, and it only would be if she didn't like it because then she would be wrong and that would be the reason (/excuse) why. I just want you guys to acknowledge that negative opinions aren't inherently invalid for whatever reason.
