Rypt posted...
At the last school I was at, the principal was friends with one of the teachers... always hanging out together, drinking together... probably hooking up together. Her friend got mad when I said I would rather not teach 8th grade because she didnt want to do it... after that I was put on a "growth plan" and written up over and over again until our school went to remote learning. I tried explaining that to the super intendent, HR, and the school board and was told that if I didn't resign, I would be terminated.

... and that's not the first time something like that has happened... so yeah, fuck teaching. hopefully the government is better.

My principal is similar except shes not so direct. She ran off two popular teachers early in the year by making little snide comments to others while they were in earshot, and made it impossible for the detention teacher to leave his room(old football coach who rarely had any students put in his room). She tried that subtle approach with me, but when she saw me talking to a union rep she backed off. But, she did what she had to do when she hired a 22 year old over me, that had been at the school for 8 years, to be the football coach. Im just waiting for the right job opening to skip out on them. Theyre in trouble if I quit.
