There's just so many avoidable disconnects by doing this. Sure, for some the opposite would serve them better. I was raised by women, so I'm fine either way. But it's more likely a more manly man would benefit off not having "sexually motivated intentions" on their end involved. It just makes more sense to try the same sex first and see how that works out. Have a trial period and then make a more permanent decision.
