So if you think about it the idea of putting a baby in a room far away from the mother is totally something that just began happening in the 19th century.

Cosleeping is what comes naturally to both baby and mother for the first 9 months or so. There have even been studies that mothers will wake up if they sense they are starting to roll onto baby.
