What? No. Biden was picked because he was a moderate that worked well with Republicans and had decent foreign affairs chops. Do you think they were going to find some other random black guy as a running mate in 2008? Kamala was picked because Biden needed a woman. Said he guaranteed he'd pick a chick if he got the nom. Out of the field they had they probably figured opposition would have the least amount they could hammer her with. How tough on crime she was? Sure, among Dems she likely won't be loved. But they figure y'all will have to swallow whatever they put out. But among Republicans, which VP choice was already on the national stage and had no unique baggage that swing voters(conservatives, pretty much) haven't been tainted with? Pocahontas? Ms. Benghazi?
