Heh, this takes me back.

Since it was my segment, Ng gave me full control and creative freedom, so it was always my decision as to whether or not I'd run the segment for that particular week. They became more sporadic as I found it harder to find juicy enough topics to rant about, or if I personally couldn't come up with great material. Over the course of the years, the board's culture and identity evolved, and we become less combative in general. It was tougher to find weekly "Infidels" because we grew less fiery in our discussion of the contests, and as I personally grew older and mellowed out, I also gained less enjoyment from roasting others. It's just not in my nature, as even in the early days, I think I roasted contest entrants (games/characters) and large swathes of fanbases more often than I did individual users.

Every contest season, I always think about bringing it back, but almost always decide against it. At this point, I'd probably alter the segment to be much more positive in nature, and I feel it just wouldn't be the same without that "bite" it used to have.

Was sure fun to rant and rave about Pokemon, though. Thanks for letting me, Ng. <3
