He hardly looks fat, certainly not by Canadian or American standards. He's certainly heavier in the final photo where it looks like it was taken when he was even younger, but even there he's more chubby than outright fat (considering he's not even "Hollywood fat")

Of illegally carrying a rifle? Yes. Everything else I'd need more information for. The video from the other topic (where he's running) clearly shows him being attacked by vigilantes (who could have and should have brought the police into it) and, if one of them had pulled a gun on him, he *might* be able to reasonably claim self-defense (which would be undermined by the illegal carrying of said weapon). So it comes back to the original shooting, which I haven't seen much about so far. I saw some photos on CE and some claims that suggested he had been attacked there as well, but I'm reserving my remarks until I see something more concrete.

Regardless of actual guilt (beyond illegally carrying the weapon), the city's leaders are going to be offering him up as a scapegoat. He'll most likely face the harshest punishment available in the state even if it turns out he was assaulted prior to that first shooting (or even if somebody had shot at him first).
