They're super anti-black there. I'd hypothesize that Rose was added just so that there'd always be an Asian character in every scene Finn's in to defuse their hate for black people, but if so that was kind of a terrible idea since they hired a Vietnamese actress to play the character, and the Chinese tend to look down on Vietnamese people as well.
