Does it really matter though

The last 10 years of Oscar Bait literally fell under this category

E: I like how they waited until an all-korean film won for them to start doing this shit. Something tells me their intentions aren't genuine.

What Oscar Bait has actually won Best Picture lately?

Maybe this will spice up the variety. I'm tired of slave movies and WW2 movies getting nominated.

This had me curious on how many of each have been nominated since the expansion.

Slave movies: 12 Years a Slave and Django Unchained

WW2 movies: Jojo Rabbit, Dunkirk, Darkest Hour, Hacksaw Ridge, Imitation Game, The King's Speech, and Inglorious Basterds.

The slave movies couldn't be further apart.
The WW2 movies: JoJo Rabbit, Dunkirk and Basterds can just be tossed out since neither of those three are really similar to the rest. The other four I can see the similarities.

Also WW1 has the same amount of representation as slave movies: 1917 and War Horse.
LGBTQ have nine representatives
Comic cooks movies have two.
And films with rape as a central focus have two!
