Marcus' storyline would be interesting if he was an atheist who found belief because he genuinely went crazy, but there's confirmation that something is speaking to these people. As such, he went from a pretty interesting character to a one-note one. I'm also not a huge fan of finales that don't wrap anything up which this one decidedly did not. Like there's not a single plot thread that was concluded. I agree with @iPhone_7 that the story feels aimless. It was a really cool storyline going on where Mother is simultaneously a killer psychopath robot and a loving caregiver.
