liberal here.

the three times one of my dogs has been attacked at the park by another dog, the offender was a pit or a pit mix. the breed is inherently dangerous -- they are literally bred to kill other dogs as efficiently as possible, it's in their genes.

not saying i think they should be banned, but i dont think the average person should be allowed to own one, either. they should be treated like firearms and potential owners should be required to take a basic safety class and pass a test. if you own a pit and it attacks someone or another dog, the pit should be taken away and that owner shouldn lose the right to own them in the future. just like how gun owners lose the right if they act irresponsibly.
