I agree entirely. As the US being the nation I live in, the nation I served in the military in, I want to forget these last 4 years and push forward and progress. We fucked up, we put him in office, we paid the price, a quarter million people died. He STILL says "no big deal" in some braindead illusion that he's some fit specimen of a human that he survived this pandemic because he eats fast food and is a fat slug, and not the fact that he received care that .001% of the population can afford. It's time to move on and forget, while the rest of the world looks at the USA as a bunch of fat, racist clowns.

so you want to forget knowing that history won't. I'm not sure how the USA stops its downward tip, but if we don't turn it around with urgency I think that people will look back back at Trump's admin as nail in the coffin rather than a foundational crack. At least for the country as we conceive of it. We haven't had a Nazi Germany level fuck up but I don't know what it will take for this country to clear the political rot that has been taking hold for decades and it looks like it will be getting worse.

even if a demagogue the likes of Trump becoming president was a logical outcome, he's definitely cemented his place in history in a way few others have. and he still has millions of die hard supporters... the whole thing is nuts.
