Pit Bulls were bred for animal fighting, killing is in their blood. Just because you have one and it's nice doesnt mean on the right stimuli they wong turn on you.
Pitbull breed traits include friendliness towards humans and hostility towards other dogs. Any dog can snap on a human if they get confused or provoked, and yes pitbulls are capable of doing a lot of damage, but so are other dog breeds that no one ever complains about (and some of these other breeds are more likely to snap as well, compared to pits). None of this necessarily applies towards pits that have been abused by their owners and used for dog fighting.
