My friend's father is in his mid 50's. Has 4 different lung diseases already. Got pneumonia...went to double pneumonia, so in both lungs. And got Covid at the same time. Now this should be 100% dead man walking right? Nope he was on a vent and had to get a tracheotomy done but he is up and doing well in the hospital yet.
So if someone that checked all the highest of high risk boxes got it and the Dr said it was "The worst case of covid and other things on top he's seen yet" and he is doing fine...well there we have it boys and girls. Over blown and now that the election is over it will go to the back burner and oh gee shocker less than a week after the election a 90% vaccine was announced. The left have been out partying in the streets...while claiming Trumps rallies were "super spreaders" and college kids are rushing football fields. Yeah it is 100% a joke and was used as a political weapon.
Your father was very lucky. A lot of the actions taken against Covid-19 were to slow the spread, so that hospitals would not be overwhelmed. Hence 'Flatten the curve'. If there were no bed available for him, or shortages of ventilators(like there were earlier this year), I can not say your father would have been as lucky. I am glad to hear of his recovery.
